MOTION NO. 8
MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell
At0.3.11 under Regional Planning Guidelines add in the names of the other Counties that make up the Greater Dublin Area.
REPORT:
The proposed insertion of details of the GDA is considered reasonable.
Manager’s Recommendation:
It is recommended that the following additional paragraph, which is similar to paragraph 1.2.22.ii in the current development plan written statement, be inserted as the first paragraph in Section 0.3.11.
The Greater Dublin Area (GDA) comprises Dublin City and the counties of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, South Dublin, Fingal, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow. Within the GDA, a distinction is made in the Guidelines between the existing built up area of Dublin and its immediate environs (the Metropolitan Area) and the remainder of the GDA (the Hinterland Area). The South Dublin County area lies within the designated Metropolitan Area with the exception of the Dublin Mountain Area which is designated as part of the Hinterland Area.
