MOTION NO. 13

MOTION: Councillor D. Keating

Rezonings: It is the policy of this Council not to rezone lands for further housing during the course of this County Development Plan 2010 – 2016.

REPORT:

Section 0.2.1 of the core strategy sets out the basis for the residential development in this County, inlcuding zoning based on capacity, density requirements and future population projections as mandated by the Draft Regional Planning Guidelines.  The above motion is not cosnidered to be appropriate as it is negitive in intent and would directly impinge on the Council's power to vary the Development Plan during it's lifetime.

Recommendation

That this motion not be adopted
