QUESTION NO. 8

QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh 2009

"Further to this Council's passing of a Motion regarding the use of those given Community Service Orders by the Courts, would the Council request the Probation Officer to target the cleansing of graffiti on Council property and other areas complained of by residents, in the Perrystown/Manor Estate area which has become significant in volume recently?"

REPLY:

Complaints about graffiti in the Perrystown/Manor Estate area should be referred to the Environmental Services Department with details of the specific location of the grafiti in question which will then be inspected by the local Litter Warden.  The graffiti will then be inspected and appropriate action taken to have it removed, whether by the Council's Graffiti Removal team, the Probation Services under the pilot graffiti removal arrrangement with the Council or, if the graffiti is on private property, by the owner/occupier.
