QUESTION NO. 2
QUESTION: Councillor J. Hannon
"To ask the Manager to report on the condition of the dwelling *address supplied, the cost of repairs to same, how long unoccupied, and when it will be relet?"
REPLY:
The dwelling in question was vacated on the 8th March 2010. This property was in good repair at the the time it was vacated and required only minor works and could have been turned around quickly but unfortunately it was vandalised. The damage, which was caused to this house included; the back door being forced open and the glass smashed; the copper piping throughout the house was stolen as was the copper cylinder in hotpress; the kitchen sink was also ripped out and stolen; the attic tank was cracked. All the foregoing vandalism caused the entire house to be flooded and as a result a full redecoration will have to be done including replacement of all the stolen items. The Clerk of Works has reported that these works will take approximately three/four weeks to complete. The estimated cost will be in the region of €10,000.
