QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager for an update, hopefully a final one, on negotiations with the OPW regarding the bring centre on the Grange Road?"

REPLY:

As reported previously, the relocation of the bring bank carries cost, land ownership and road re-alignment elements that have been under discussion and must be resolved before any works can be undertaken. It should be noted that the context has changed with the significantly different economic environment for both the Council and the OPW and it does not appear likely that current circumstances will allow the relocation.

The location has been and will continue to be monitored regularly and the dumping problems that had been reported at the location have not been arising in recent times. The Bring Banks were cleaned during their last service.
