QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager to outline a timeline for commencement of the works on Stocking Lane and Whitechurch Road schemes?"

REPLY:

SDCC Environmental Services Department are currently carrying out site-works in respect of the Boherboy Water Scheme on Stocking Lane. The laying of a new water-main on Stocking Lane is anticipated to be completed by July 2010. The Roads Department plan to commence works to the proposed footpath/cycletrack in or about August 2010 upon completion of the water-main works.

With regard to proposed Traffic Calming works on Whitechurch Road, an application was made to the Department of Transport in 2009 for grant support, but unfortunately no allocation has been received for 2010 in this regard. Works will commence to Whitechurch Road when funding is secured for this project.
