  Housebound Service The Library comes to your door!  If a library member is unable to visit the library due to age or infirmity, we select books and deliver them to their door. Tuesday 6th & 13th April

  Joe Delaney visit Bestselling author of The Spook’s Apprentice series visits to tell his fans about his characters, spooky ideas and upcoming movie. All 11- 14 year olds welcome Friday 9th April at 11am
  Rathfarnham Guide Book & Map Project A new project for 8-12 year olds. Come along every Saturday afternoon for eight weeks to help create a local guide book and map of Rathfarnham outlining and describing places of interest for all the family. The guide book and map will be produced by South Dublin libraries and children will be exposed to local history, the research process and factual writing. It will be of interest to teachers, students and all who live in the Rathfarnham area. Saturday 10th, 17th & 24th April at 2pm
  U3A University of the Third Age.  Self directed learning for older people. Group has twenty members and arrange varied activities, talks and outings. Monday 12th April at 10.30am
  Orchard Book Club Local book club with approx. 12 members Monday 12th April at 2.30pm
  Junior Book Club Approx. 15 members aged from 8-12 years. Monday 12th April at 3.30pm
  Ballyroan Library Reader’s Group - Long established book club with many long term members. Tuesday 13th April at 7pm

  Community Recycling Initiative From Spin Cycle to Recycle Talk and Workshop.  Clondalkin Community Recycling Initiative hosts a talk and workshop on how to recycle your common household appliances. Wednesday 21st April  at 11am

  Eco Week - Dale Treadwell from RTE’s Kazoo show will bring his unique take on the life to be found in your own back garden School class visits   All children welcome to 3pm session – Booking Essential Friday 23rd April at 9.45am, 11am, 12pm & 3pm
  Surviving the Great Recession.  Ed Deevy, author and management psychologist will talk about how individuals, families and organisations can respond to the challenges posed by the current recession. Tuesday 27th April at 7pm

  Ballyboden Social History Group established since 2001, is open to all with an interest in historical and social issues. There are frequent guest lectures on a wide variety of topics, it features workshop type discussions and it is very informal. You can come for one session that is of particular interest to you, or attend on a regular basis, In co-operation with the WEB Project who organise the outings and indeed the holidays away, refreshments always served in a friendly homely environment. All Welcome. The current work of the group includes helping the research on a book on the history of Whitechurch Library, and 'moments in your life', in conjunction with History Ireland. Thursdays from 2pm  
  Money Advice and Budgeting Service MABS MABS a confidential money advice and budgeting service, provide a clinic with friendly experienced staff from their Dundrum office every Friday by appointment only.   Women's Arts and Crafts This project is in co-operation with the WEB Project. The women are making a patchwork quilt to reflect the centenary of Whitechurch Library in 2011. It hopes to reflect in this work of art, the creativity and energy of all those who have used this historic building since 1911.  there will be some input from visiting craftswomen, historians and artists to help make this the centre piece of an exhibition in March 2011  new members are always welcome, support and training in the project will be given.   Sean Keating in Context with Dr Eimear O'Connor Sean Keating RHA, one of Ireland's most iconic painters lived in Ballyboden. We are delighted to have the distinguished scholar and artist, Dr Eimear O'Connor, to give this talk on his life and work. A particular welcome to people from the Ballyboden area, who may have memories of him. Hosted by the Ballyboden Social History Group and all are welcome.
