QUESTION NO. 2
QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe
To ask the Manager will he outline how many houses have been effected by the backlog in registering of grey bin and current waiting time for a customer in County area?
REPLY:
74,815 customers have so far had their bins registered. In excess of 7,500 of those customers have been contacted by Council staff or contractors since January to have their bins registered, re-chipped or checked as a result of either making contact with the Council or being on a list of unregistered customers that had not previously availed of opportunties to register their bin.
Response times to customer registration queries from receipt of query to uploading of bin registration details are now approximately 4-5 working days. This is due to the process requiring queries to be checked, collating and sorting customers lists, printing batches of labels and making contact with customers to arrange appointments for bin scanning, carrying out the scanning and then uploading the details.
In addition to these Customers, in excess of 11,000 replacement cards have now been issued.
