QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe
To ask the Manager can he outline in a report how much this Council is paying for valuations of housing and property in last year and per year over the last 5 years, and cost it is currently paying for the valuation a house and if any negotiations have begun with valuers to reduce their charges?
Reply Reply The council has employed the Services of a Valuer/Estate Agent under the following schemes. The Council use Dublin City Council Valuers Office to carry out valuations on properties for the following schemes Valuations are charged on a per property basis. A reduced charge per property is applied when a block valuation is carried out. A block valuation is when a request for a valuation on a group of properties within the same development is requested

Please note discussions are ongoing with the Dublin City Valuers Office with regard to future fee structures.
The Purchase of Private dwellings programme is where the Council purchases a property on the open market for Social Housing. Under this scheme the Council have employed
Orchard Auctioneers who charged valuations fees of €207.41 per property and a additional negotiation fee of €537.74 if the sale was completed. The Council has not
purchased any private dwellings in recent years and given current market conditions would seek to revise these terms in any future programmes.
