QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

To ask the Manager if he will provide figures for the total number (under all schemes) of Affordable Units disposed by the Council to purchasers in 2008 and 2009, and if he will provide an updated figure for the number of Affordable Units which are currently in the ownership of  the Council and which at this time are unsold?  

REPLY:

The following are the figures for total numbers of Affordable Homes sold to approved affordable purchasers in the South Dublin Council area from 2008, including those sold by South Dublin County Council, through Direct Sales Agreements and those affordable homes sourced by the Affordable Homes Partnership.

There are currently 10 affordable homes in the owenrship of South Dublin County Council which are unsold, with a further 7 homes held with a deposit, with the completion of their purchase by affordable applicants anticipated shortly.

In addition, there have been 103 affordable homes owned by South Dublin County Council leased for Social Housing use, to date, under the terms of the leasing agreement with Helm Housing Association.
