Filling of Vacancy on the HSE Dublin Mid-Leinster Regional Health Forum following the Resignation of Councillor E. Coburn from the Forum
The Tánaiste and Minister for Health & Children signed the Health Act 2004 (Regional Health Forums) Regulations 2005 on 15th December 2005. These Regulations provided for the establishment of 4 no. Regional Health Forums with effect from 1st January 2006.
The function of a Regional Health Forum as set out in Section 42 (2) of the Health Act 2004 is to make such representations to the Executive as the Forum considers appropriate on the range and operation of health and personal social services provided within its functional area.
The membership of each Forum is made up of nominees from City and County Councils within its functional area. Under the regulations the Dublin – Mid Leinster Forum consists of 40 no. nominees as follows:

Therefore this Council has nomination rights to 7 no. Members on the Dublin – Mid Leinster Regional Health Forum which were approved following the 2009 Local Elections as follows:
Councillors M. Duff, E. Walsh, E. Coburn, T. Delaney, C. King, S. Crowe, G. O’Connell.
Following notification of intention to resign from Councillor E. Coburn there is now one Councillor vacancy to be filled.
It is a matter for the Council to appoint a replacement representative to fill the vacancy created by Councillor Coburn. This is now before the Members for their consideration.
