MEETING OF SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

Monday, April 12, 2010

QUESTION NO.1

QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe

To ask the Manager if many housholds were affected by the lack of water pressure and if a review will be carried out to investigate the difficulties experienced by tenants in three storey or more buildings in the county with a view to putting in place measures to facilitate these tenants if a new water shortage crisis arises in the future?

REPLY:

South Dublin County Council’s Water Maintenance Section has not been contacted regarding any household in its administrative area  being without water following the lifting of the water restrictions.

If the householders referred to are local authority tenants, they should contact the Housing Maintenance Section who will investigate the matter.  If they are tenants of private landlords, they should contact their Management Companies/Landlords.  There be issues internal to the building which are affecting pressure.
