MOTION: Councillor M. Corr

That the Manager gives a commitment to ensure that all road signage on National Roads in the Tallaght area are verified for correct spelling of placenames etc. as soon as possible.

REPORT:

The Council is obliged to ensure that all road signage is verified for correct spelling of placenames and makes corrections where errors exist as soon as practicable and in accordance with available resources. The Council is also fully aware of its obligations under the Official Languages Act and the need for correct signage "as gaeilge".

If any Member wishes to highlight any particular difficulty, staff will be happy to check whether the matter has already been investigated.
