MOTION NO 5.

MOTION: Councillor M. Corr

That the Manager outlines the current status of the Connect project with regard to Jobstown Community Centre - stating whether this project will now proceed within the confines of the original community center building or if it is dependent on central funding and is tied in to the construction of the extension of the planned Youth facility.

The following report on the Public Consultation Procedure under Part 8 of the  Planning and  Development  Regulations 2001 for  The  proposed new youth drop-in centre and Connect Centre at Jobstown Community Centre was presented to the May 2008 County Council meeting:

This project is categorised as “Projects committed subject to identification and availability of funding “ in the Draft 3 Year Rolling Capital Programme 2010 -2012. Further progress on this project is not possible in the absence of a fully funded package to finance the capital cost.

There is no current proposal to proceed with the Connect element within the existing Jobstown Community Centre.
