MOTION: Councillor C. King

That this Committee call on the Manager to arrange for the marking of parking bays on Avonbeg Gardens adjacent to the St Dominics Community Centre with a view to a more efficient use of the space available for parking.

REPORT:

The County Architect's Department has reported that Avonbeg Phase 4, which includes 7 residential units as well as St Dominic’s Community Facility, is due for handover mid to end of April. Five number additional public carparking spaces were designated to the west of St Dominic’s, when it was handed over in April 2009.

The County Architect's Department has also reported that another 5 public carparking spaces will be marked out to the east (i.e to the left of the Community Facility, as you face it), and 2 set down only spaces directly in front of St Dominic’s, on completion of the works in April. The attached layout plan shows the final parking arrangements and it should be noted that these are all public carparking spaces, accessible to both St Dominic’s and to residents and visitors.
