QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager to provide an update on the recycling facilities for St Enda's park?"

REPLY:

The Environment Department have been in discussions with the Office of Public Works regarding the transfer of this land into their ownership and the installation of a new bring bank on the site.  The Council are also in discussion with Dublin Bus regarding the relocation of the bus shelter to another suitable location in the vicinity.

As reported previously, the relocation of the bring bank carries cost and land exchange elements that have been under discussion and must be resolved before any works can be undertaken. It should be noted that the context has changed with the significantly different economic environment.

The location has been montiored regularly and the dumping problems that had been reported at the location have not been arising in recent times. Arrangements have been made for the Bring Banks to be cleaned at the time of their next service.
