1)     Minutes of previous meeting held on 11th February 2009 were noted and approved.

 

2)    Matters arising.

 

3)    Community Facilities update.

     The report on Community Facilities was presented by Pat Smith and was NOTED.

 

4)   County Sports and Recreation Strategy Update

    The report was presented by Thomas McDermott. Mr. S. Reid contributed to a debate and the report was NOTED.

 

5)   Sports Partnership Update

    The report was presented by Thomas McDermott. The members commended Mr. McDermott on the efforts of the Sports Partnership section and Cllrs. Cosgrave and King     contributed to the debate along with Mr. S. Reid. The report was NOTED.

 

6)    Tallaght Stadium update

The report on Tallaght Stadium was presented by Willie Sheils.  The report outlined progress on the second stand which will take approximately 16- 20 weeks construction, weather permitting.   The first international match took place in the stadium recently when Ireland played Poland in an Under 17 international.

 Cllrs. Cosgrave and Brophy contributed to a discussion about the present and future uses of the Stadium, along with messrs. Coughlan, Johnston and Reid.
