Green Bin Service

REPLY:

The Green Bin Contract contains performance clauses that require a minimum level of service from the contractor. The minimum service requires, in summary, that bins that are not collected are re-visited within a timeframe set under the contract. As with any such requirement, there are conditions attached to such clauses to recognise special/exceptional circumstances.

The Council, along with it's regional partners, has identified the performance failure in respect of the period of the adverse weather and enforcement of the performance clause is being pursued through the contract mechanisms. The Contractor has a right to reply under the contract and this is awaited.

The Senior Engineer has formally requested that the green bin contractor implement a change to the timing of collections in the West Tallaght/Citywest area and this is being considered by the contractor at present.
