QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh

"Is the Council intending to introduce parking charges in the Tallaght area? When will they be introduced?

Where will the meters be placed and what charge will be applied for in the first hour?"  

REPLY:

The Draft Control of Parking Bye Laws currently  under Statutory Consultation phase includes the Tallaght area within the pay and display areas. The adoption of the Bye Laws is a reserved function of the Members and as previously indicated a report on the submissions received is in the course of preparation and will be presented informally to Members of each Area Committee prior to being brought before the Members for recommendation in order that they will have the opportunity to review submissions received.

The proposed parking charges are outlined on a street basis (both on a map and schedule) in the draft Bye Laws. It is a matter for the Members to set the charges in a manner which reflects the intended outcomes.
