The number of recorded Public Order offences has decreased by 16% in the year ending 31/12.09, 635 incidents in 2008 compared to 534 in 2009. The number of assaults reported reduced by 29% from 200 in 2008 to 142 in 2009.
The number of criminal damage incidents reported decreased from 954 in 2008 to 822 in 2009, a decrease of 14%. There were 47 anti social behaviour orders issued in respect of adults and 48 behaviour warnings issued in respect of minors. 23 of these orders were issued in the Moy Glas and immediate surrounding areas.
Again in response from requests of members of the Community Forum Meetings held in Lucan and Ronanstown, the Community Policing Units have been re-organised into teams who are responsible for response and problem solving pertaining to the particular neighbourhood to which they have been assigned. An additional Community Garda has been assigned in both Lucan and Ronanstown Garda Stations. A covert surveillance operation is planned by Lucan Community Policing Unit to ascertain if licensed premises in the area are selling intoxicating liquor to underage persons
