COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE (2)

QUESTION NO. 21
QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh
"To ask the Manager to address a request on behalf of an elderly constituent to have a small area c. 2 metres long x 1 metre in breadth tarmacadamed (details supplied). The area is the only grassed area on that road and is frequently mucky and not passable for this gentleman to exit his car safely?"
REPLY:
It is not Council policy to pave over grass verges. However if the resident wishes to create a driveway then he must apply for the necessary planning permission in advance of the works and make arrangements with his own contractor to carry out the work in accordance with any conditions of the planning permission. Prior to the commencement of works the contractor will have to apply to the Roads Department for a licence and receive approval to the carrying out of the proposed works on the public road.
