QUESTION NO.
QUESTION: Councillor S. Frances Fitzgerald
Resources for tackling gang land crime in certain areas of Clondalkin, Dublin 22
REPLY:
There has been no reduction in the level of Garda resources to tackle Gang Land Crime in the Clondalkin area. Anvil funding is continuing on the same level as in 2009. There are sufficient uniformed plain clothes and drug unit Gardai assigned to both Lucan and Ronanstown Stations to deal with the crime situation. Assistance is provided by Garda National Units, including ERU – Emergency Response Unit, NBCI – National Bureau of Crime Investigation, OCU – Organised Crime Unit, GNDU – Garda National Drugs Unit, SDU – Special Detective Unit, NSU – National Surveillance Unit, when appropriate. The Divisional Crime Task Force which has been based in Blanchardstown will be partly re-located to Ronanstown in 2010 to cover the Clondalkin and districts in order to deal with our common purpose of tackling serious and ordinary crime.
