Garda DMRS

Crime patrols are maintained by a dedicated marked mobile patrol car, concentrating on crime prevention and detection throughout the whole District.

Briefings are held at the start of each tour and car crews are instructed to pay attention to particular areas as required by operational demands. The areas of Templeogue are highlighted each day and patrols visit and patrol the residential estates on and off throughout each shift.

There is a dedicated Community Garda assigned to work in and among the estates in Templeogue, supported by regular patrolling by Mountain Bike Unit members. All elderly victims of crime are visited as a matter of course and crime prevention advice is offered. Community Gardai at Terenure are in constant contact with Resident Associations in the Orwell area as well as the Neighbourhood Watch Committee. Quarterly meetings are also held with these associations and are attended by the Community Sergeant and the local Superintendent. Any issues /problems raised at these meetings are discussed and solutions offered.

Crime incidents are monitored on a daily basis and trends identified and corrective/preventative action taken at an early stage.
