COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF RATHFARNHAM AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, February 09, 2010
MOTION NO. 6
MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave
Cathaoirleach's Business
"That the Manager give a report on the frequency of cleaning, sweeping of the cycle path in the Rathfarnham ward."
REPORT:
Under the Council's road-sweeping contract, all main roads are swept on a monthly basis which covers bicycle paths that are on the main roads including that on Rathfarnham Road (running from Rathfarnham Village to the Dodder Rd) and on Ballyroan Road.
The bicycle paths on Dodder Road, (From Templeogue to Terenure Cross) Grange Road, Willbrook Road & Ballyboden Road are all on footpaths and cannot be swept by the contractor's large road sweepers, consequently these benefit from a litter pick & general clean up on a monthly basis instead.
The bicycle paths in question were inspected by Cleansing staff yesterday (02/02/2010) and they were found to be in generally good condition.
