QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr
"To ask the Manager to state when Traffic cameras on the ORR in the Tallaght area will be operational as they are currently not operating in terms of public access by the Council's website?"
REPLY:
South Dublin County Council Traffic and Travel website includes images of traffic conditions across the county area. As newer cameras are installed for the Traffic Management Centre images from the new cameras are also relayed to the Councils Traffic website.
Four cameras are being provided along the southern phase of the Outer Ring Road (N81 to N7 section). They are located at Kingswood, Luas crossing, Fettercarin and the N81.
The Fettercairn camera is operational and is configured to send images to the Council traffic website. Images will be available shortly.
The Kingswood camera is currently under installation it is expected that it will be operational next month.
The N81 camera cannot be installed at this time as snag works at this location are incomplete. The camera will be installed as soon as the snags are resolved.
The camera at the Luas crossing will be installed on activation of that scheme in 2011.
