QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager for an update on Knocklyon Utd. Football Club's tenure at Ballycullen/Knocklyon Park?"

REPLY:

Knocklyon Utd. FC have an allocation of one playing pitch at Ballycullen and by separate allocation since March 2009, a temporary letting of a second pitch utilising demountable goal posts. 

While part of the lands are earmarked for disposal to support the Council's Capital Programme, the Council is committed to working with Knocklyon Utd. to achieve the optimum recreational use for the lands at Ballycullen and welcomes the support of the club in this regard. Council officials have indicated their willingness to meet with the club and in this regard a meeting has been arranged for 21st January 2010 to discuss the allocations.
