Re: Proposed disposal of site at New Nangor Road/Cherrywood Crescent junction,
Clondalkin, Dublin 22
South Dublin County Council to Dr Jim McCarthy
The Council advertised the above site for sale in the Irish Independent on 4th November 2009 and continuously on Daft.ie from that date. The closing date for receipt of offers was 16th December 2009.
The Council received three valid offers for Nangor Road. The valuer was not prepared to recommend acceptance of any of the offers because he considered them to be too low. He entered into negotiations with the highest tenderer who returned with a higher bid of €160,000.00. The valuer is now prepared to recommend acceptance of the new highest tender offer for Nangor Road of €160,000.00 from Dr Jim McCarthy as being fair and reasonable subject to contract and completion of the legal formalities with the following conditions:-
I recommend in accordance with Section 211 of the Planning & Development Act, 2000, Section 88 of the Housing Act, 1966 and subject to the provisions of Section 183 of the Local Government Act, 2001, that the Council dispose of the site at New Nangor Road/Cherrywood Crescent junction, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 as shown delineated in red on Drawings No. LA/35/09 dated October 2009 comprising 1710 square metres or thereabouts, to Dr Jim McCarthy, 69 Bushy Park Road, Rathgar, Dublin 6. subject to the conditions outlined above.
The land being disposed of is part of lands acquired from Deansrath Investment Co in 1972 for Housing purposes.
