QUESTION: Councillor E. Maloney

"To ask the Manager to arrange a clean-up of the lane located between Dominics National School,  Mountain Park Rd., and the houses in St. Maelruans Park?"

REPLY:

The laneway in question was closed by the erection of gates at the request of local residents.  Accordingly, the residents are responsible for the upkeep of the area as it does not fall under the remit of the Cleansing Section.  Howveer, if local residents are willing to arrange a clean up and remove the material from the lane, the local Anti-Litter Warden will assist with collection of the material.  To this end, local residents should contact the Anti-Litter Warden Office.  A recent inspection also showed that the lock on the gate was missing and this will be addressed.
