COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE (1)
Monday, November 16, 2009
QUESTION NO 1.
QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney
"To ask the Manager to report on contacts made with residents and sporting associations in the Cherryfield/Beechfield area of Dublin 12 with a view to providing a community centre for the area, particularly with regard to the planned location for such a centre, and to make a statement on the matter?"
REPLY:
There are no plans at present to provide a new community centre in this area.
Two large multi-purpose community facilities already exist within a 10 minute walk of the Cherryfield/Beechfield area. These are the Greenhills Community Centre and the Perrystown Manor Community Centre. They both provide opportunities for room hire and have a huge number of recreational and social activities organised for the local community to avail off.
A smaller Pavilion Building is located in the Beechfield Park which is also open and available for community use.
