QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

To ask the Manager to update members on the preparation of the new County Heritage Plan?

REPLY:

The County Heritage Forum met 4 times between January 2009 and April 2009 during which time the precise details of the objectives and actions of the Heritage Plan were discussed.  At the meeting on 23rd April, the Heritage Officer presented a final amalgamated working draft of the County Heritage Plan to the Heritage Forum for agreement.  Design and layout of the document was undertaken in conjunction with the Drawing Office. 

Following the re-formation of the SPCs, it is expected that the Heritage Plan will be presented to the next Economic Development and Planning SPC.

The Heritage Forum reconvened on 7th October 2009 to discuss possible actions that can be undertaken in 2010, assuming successful progress of the Heritage Plan through Council and subject to budgetary constraints.
