QUESTION NO.12

QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

To ask the Manager to report on whether funding has been identifed and confirmed with respect to each of the 6-year and long-term road objectives contained in both the current County Development Plan and the new Draft County Development Plan currently on public display?

REPLY:

A number of schemes have been implemented by way of development levy funding, NRA and DTO funding from the 6 year  and long term objectives of the current Development Plan.  These include the following:  M50 upgrade, N4 upgrade, N 7 Upgrade, Completion of  the Outer Ring Road and Fonthill Road Link including the Adamstown Link Road, Green Route and Firhouse Road.

There is no funding identified for the balance of schemes listed at this time.  The Council is hopeful of obtaining a grant from the DOT in 2010 for the Citywest to Belgard Road.  

The question of monies being identified for road objectives in the draft plan is premature at this time.
