QUESTION NO. 11
QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart
"To ask the Manager to arrange for the planting of the area in front of the new wall built at Templeroan/Boden Drive (adjacent to the bus stop) as it is attracting grafitti and looks very bare"
(Location - The precise location is at the end of templeroan Dr and junction of Green Route)
REPLY:
Due to the extent of the established and maturing tree population in this general area of Rathfarnham and the increasingly large volume of requests for tree pruning and removals, the Parks Department is giving priority under the forthcoming Arboricultural Programme specifically to the maintenance and pruning of existing trees. Consequently, a very minimal amount of planting will be undertaken next spring. In this context, this request for planting of climbers on the wall at the end of Templeroan Drive will be put forward for consideration under the planting programme for spring 2010.
