QUESTION NO.8
QUESTION: Councillor D. Keating
To ask the Manager to provide an up-to-date report, including time-scale for the provision of the brown bin for the residents of South Dublin?
REPLY:
The Brown Bin scheme has been under discussion with Unions for some time and plans are now being advanced for the introduction of the service as soon as is possible subject to no further unanticipated delays.
It is envisaged that the service will be fully rolled out to all Customers within the first quarter of 2010. This is essential to allow the Council to be compliant with national targets for the diversion of bio-degradable waste from landfill by the deadline date of July 2010.
Councillors will be advised of the roll out arrangements and service details in the coming weeks.
