MOTION NO. 2

MOTION: Councillor C. Brophy

That this Committee declares that the Burma Garage site on Wellington Lane be declared a derelict site and calls on the Manager to initiate the process necessary to declare the site derelict.

REPORT:

The site at the former Burmah Garage, Greenhills, Dublin 12, was recently inspected by the Council's Area Engineer and was deemed to be in a derelict state.  A Section 11 Notice was served on the registered owner on 30th September, 2009, outlining a number of works to be completed within a certain time frame, in order to render the site non derelict.  The site will be re-inspected on expiry of this Notice and if the works outlined in the Notice have not been completed satisfactorily the owner will be informed and the site will be entered onto the Derelict Sites Register and will be subject to an annual levy.
