QUESTION NO. 6

QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh 2009

"To ask the Manager what proposal he has for planting shrubbery(daffodils etc) for the year and whether more trees are to be planted in Beechfield park?"

REPLY:

The Parks Department has no plans at present to undertake additional planting in Beechfield Park.  It is considered that the Park is already well planted with trees and suitable locations for planting of shrubbery are limited from the perspective of of minimising cover and potential for anti-social behaviour.  In the context of prevailing economic and resource constraints, the Parks Department is currently giving priority and applying its resources to the maintenance of existing plantings and trees.
