QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor S. Crowe
"To ask the Manager can he give an update on the average cost to this Council of nescessary improvements to housing stock per house that was surrendered or recovered from former tenants in the last year, and outlining in the report the largest amount spent on refurbishment and associated works in this Tallaght Committee area?"
REPLY:
137 units were upgraded countywide for re-letting from 1st January to end of September , 84 of these completions are in the Tallaght/Rathfarnham Area. It is not possible to give a detail on the casts of each house upgrade but the average cost of this upgrading is €23,400 per unit. The most expensive would be approx. €45,000, which would include a full upgrade including window and door replacement, re-wiring, central heating, kitchen replacement, internal and external decoration.
