QUESTION NO 6.

QUESTION: Councillor B. Lawlor

"To ask the Manager  could he please give an update on the community centre that was to be built in Ballycragh Park?"

REPLY:

The proposed Ballycragh Community Centre facility is included in the Council's 3 year Rolling Capital Programme in the category "Projects Committed"

 subject to identification and availability of funding.

These projects are ones which the Council is committed to proceeding with but are in some cases dependant on funding from sources outside the Council. These projects can only proceed when the availability of the entire project funding package is confirmed.

Due to the economic downturn there will be further financial challenges with regard to funding (Revenue and Capital) going forward which will negatively impact on the Council’s infrastructural programmes.

Further consideration of this project has been deferred until 2010.
