QUESTION NO.10
QUESTION: Councillor D. Keating
To ask the Manager to report on what liaising takes place with other adjoining local authorities in the interest of consistency on planning, say for example in the case of planning issues relating to an aerodrome on lands common to South Dublin County Council and Kildare County Council?
REPLY:
Further to section 34 (2) (b) of the Planning and Developent Act 2000 (as amended), planning applications on lands common to or immediately adjoining another planning authority area are generally referred to that authority by South Dublin County Council for consideration and vice versa. It is a requirement that the referral authority shall have regard to the views of the adjoining authority. In addition, Sections 11 and 13 of the Planning and Development Act make provision for the notification of adjoining planning authorities of the County Development Plan Review and Variation processes respectively.
