"To ask the County Manager for the provision of additional seating at the Ballymount Park at Kingswood Heights?"

REPLY:

A number of park benches were provided in Ballymount Park in the vicinity of the ornamental pond when the park was originally developed. Unfortunately, where park benches have been provided, they have become focal points for loitering by gangs of youths and locations of anti-social behaviour.  The provision of additional seating in the park would therefore have to be considered very carefully in the context of the problems which have arisen in relation to the existing seating. Staff of the Parks Department are available to meet with local residents to discuss this matter further.
