QUESTION NO. 1

QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

"To ask the Manager to undertake a rapid review of the condition of the areas surrounding all Traveller Accommodation developments in the Tallaght area with a view to definitively addressing environmental issues such as unfinished landscaping, damaged landscaping, dumping etc. and to present this report to the next relevant meeting of the Tallaght area committee?"

REPLY:

The Traveller unit has also been working with the Anti Litter Wardens to address the issue of illegal dumping. With the use of CCTV,  issuing residents with letters and through contact with the Caretakers, an information  campaign has been undertaken to inform Residents of their obligation to maintain their Bay or House and the surrounding area in an acceptable fashion, in accordance with their Tenancy Agreements.

A report will be compiled in conjunction with the Parks and Landscape Services Department of all the Traveller Accommodation developments within the Tallaght area and presented to the next meeting of the Tallaght Area Committee (1) on 19th October, as a Headed Item Report.
