QUESTION: Councillor J. Hannon

That action be taken to prevent the use of quad bikes and other motorised vehicles in public and other lands in South Dublin, and with particular reference to the following locations:

• Hellfire Club lands
• Dodder Linear Park at Old Mill and Scoil Carmel
• Kiltalown Public Open Space

REPLY:

Coillte have had bye-laws passed and which will be trialed in the Dublin Mountains over the coming months before being implemented nationwide.  Signs will be erected across sites in the Dublin Mountains from the 7th September.  Focus is going to be on Hell Fire and Massy's initially,  Meetings have been held with representatives from the Dublin Mountain Partnership, Coillte District Manager Dublin/Wicklow) and the Gardai regarding this issue.
