QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor, TD

To ask the Manager to confirm progress being made in respect of ongoing anti-social behaviour in Council estates in Tallaght and will he make a statement.

REPLY:

Gardaí at Tallaght, particularly those attached to the Community Policing Unit, are working closely with South Dublin County Council, local estate management and other agencies to deal with anti-social behaviour in Council estates in Tallaght.  Youths involved in crime are being brought into the five Garda Youth Diversion Projects in the Tallaght area.  Gardaí are supporting the four pilot sites for the Community Safety Initiative.
