MOTION NO. 5
MOTION: Councillor J. Lahart
"That the Manager take on board the safety and aesthetic concerns of local residents concerning the M50 Boundary treatment and Scholarstown Interchange junction and to outline a timetable for completion of same."
REPORT:
Existing walls/barriers along the M50 will be retained where practicable. Where these walls/barriers are required to be removed to facilitate construction or to increase the height and/or length of the walls ,they will be reinstated at their existing locations or at other appropriate locations.
Noise barriers will also be provided to ameliorate noise impacts from the upgrade of the M50. In most instances the noise barriers are located within the motorway boundary and the system employed must be capable of integrating with the surrounding environment.
In the case of noise barrier system the Contractor must install a system that performs to the requisite acousitic requirements of the NRA.
The Council will liaise with the M50 Concession to obtain a timetable for the works to be carried out and will revert to the Council with the information.
