QUESTION NO. 11
QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart
"To ask the Manager to consider a footpath on the green opposite St Colmcilles JNS & SNS Knocklyon as many children use this route from Knocklyon Park laneway and Delaford etc. there are dog droppings etc on this route and it is difficult to walk on in bad weather?"
REPLY:
The provision of a pedestrian footpath across the green at Idrone Avenue to St. Colmcille’s Junior and Senior Schools will be considered under the Parks Department programme of works for 2010 subject to the identification of the necessary resources to undertake the works.
The routing of a footpath at this location would also have to be considered in consultation with residents of Idrone Park as it would run parallel and in close proximity to the rear of houses along Idrone Park. It is proposed to raise this matter for discussion with the residents of Idrone Park as soon as a meeting can be arranged.
