MOTION NO. 294

MOTION: Councillor C. King

Housing Strategy: "That an 'overnight' homeless unit be either built or acquired within the County for the Homeless people of the County and that this be fully resourced and operational within the lifetime of the plan. This policy to be pursued in consultation with relevant bodies such as Focus Ireland, Tallaght Homeless Advice, etc."

REPORT:

Table 6.14 Emergency Accommodation contained in the Housing Strategy set out in Schedule 6 of the Draft County Development Plan (page 289) states the following:

 “The four year action plan on Homelessness includes the following outline targets for the provision of accommodation for homeless persons”

“10/12 bed accommodation facility in Tallaght

 10 bed accommodation facility in Clondalkin.”

                                                          

Manager’s Recommendation:

The proposed motion should not be adopted.
