MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

That the following amendment be included in the written statement:-

3.4.18.iv Policy S35: Signs on Shopfronts and Other Business Premises

ADD – the use of the Irish language is encouraged.

REPORT:

The encouragement of the use of the Irish language within signage is to be welcomed. 

MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that this Motion be adopted subject to a minor amendment to the wording.

It is recommended that the proposed sentence read:

‘…and will encourage the use of the Irish language.’

So that it ties in with the existing paragraph.
