MOTION: Councillor C. Keane
That the following amendment be included in the written statement:-
Table 4.3.4 Tree Preservation Orders
Add – to carry out a tree survey of SDCC with a view to compiling a complete list of trees worthy of preservation orders – noting there are only 3 trees listed in current plan.
REPORT:
With respect to any possible positive environmental effects the Council will review the existing Tree Preservation Orders in the County and as part of that review will undertake an assessment of significant trees, groups of trees and woodlands in the county with a view to making further Tree Preservation Orders in circumstances where it is considered desirable, and where the subject trees meet the requirements set out in the TPO Guidelines issued by the DoEHLG, to enhance the protection of such trees.
Managers Recommendation:
It is recommended that the Draft Development Plan inlcude a new policy to state:
'The Council will review the existing Tree Preservation Orders in the County and as part of that review will undertake an assessment of significant trees, groups of trees and woodlands in the county with a view to making further Tree Preservation Orders in circumstances where it is considered desirable, and where the subject trees meet the requirements set out in the TPO Guidelines issued by the DoEHLG, to enhance the protection of such trees.'
