MOTION NO. 253

MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

To replace Specific Local Objective 9 regarding “Palmerstown- Planning Study” with the following specific local objective to ‘prepare a Local Area Plan for Palmerstown to provide a coordinated framework for the regeneration and future development of the city suburb to include:

• Strategies for facilitating the development of vacant or underutilised infill sites;
• A integrated traffic & mobility strategy for the entire of Palmerstown;
• Detailed proposals for the provision of additional community facilities including a library and digital hub;
• Strategies aimed at improving both the urban and natural environment.'

REPORT:

As currently drafted SLO 9 states ‘ to prepare a local planning study for the Palmerstown area.’ Having considered this motion it is recommended that in order to allow for the consideration of the spatial planning issues facing Palmerstown in an efficient manner that the SLO be amended to state’ To prepare an approved plan for the Palmerstown area.’

That SLO 9 is amended to state ‘To prepare an approved plan for the Palmerstown area.’
