MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

That the following amendment be included in the written statement:-

1.3.21 Childcare Facilities

for every 75 dwelling units in new housing areas with a capacity for 20 children. Delete the following words : “However, depending on circumstances this requirement may be varied”

REPORT:

The Draft Development Plan provides for the provision of childcare facilities in new residential areas in line with national policy, however there may be circumstances where the need for childcare facilities may be met in existing facilities or alternative locations for such childcare facilities may be more appropriate. The Draft Development Plan provides that a development contribution to enable such appropriate provision to be made elsewhere is required.

Manager’s Recommendation:

No change to the Draft Development Plan..
