MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

That the following amendment be included in the written statement:-

1.4 The County is currently poorly provided with children’s playgrounds  ADD Rathfarnham Castle Park playground.

REPORT:

The statement; 1.4 The County is currently poorly provided with children’s playgrounds is included as part of Appendix 6; Planning Guidance on Provision of Children’s Play Facilities in New Developments.

This is included as an appendix as it is referred to in the Draft Development Plan in terms of the specific guidance on the standards, hierarchy and safety provision required in Children’s Play Facilities in New Developments in the County. The Guidelines were adopted in 2006.

Section 1.3.4 of the Draft Development Plan sets out a broad assessment of the Cultural, Recreational and Leisure Facilities of the County and the Playground at Rathfarnham is included here.

Manager’s Recommendation:

It is recommended that this Motion not be adopted.
